Councillor Councillor Syed Ghani is responsible for community safety and enforcement including anti-social behaviour, environmental crime, noise nuisance, trading standards, and parking. As part of this, Councillor Ghani oversees the Council’s flagship Private Landlord Licensing Scheme. Councillor Syed Ghani also leads on crime and safety issues for the Council, including CCTV in the borough, liaising with the Police and with a special focus on tackling serious youth violence, robbery, burglaries and domestic violence. As part of this, Councillor Syed Ghani chairs the borough’s Community Safety Partnership which, along with statutory partners, reviews the borough Community Safety Plan in relation to Children and Young People, Managing Offenders, Safer Borough Board and Violence Against Women and Girls.
